Dave McCluney (Atlantis) runs an Otari MTR90 mk2 and has made more records on tape than most of us have on Protools.

There are actually a bunch of tape-equipped studios in Melbourne... some of them even know what they're doing ;-)

Headgap, SoundPark, Sing Sing (North and South), Newmarket.
Probably many more.

What studio is that Mark?

I can definitely recommend every studio mentioned above depending on your needs...

Someone in Melbourne has my old Ampex MM1200 tape machine - cant remember what studio...
The Ampex leaves all of the above tape machines for dead - and I had years of experience a/b ing my MCI, Studer and Ampex against each other.
NO contest - the Ampex machines kill the competition by a massive margin (as far as sonics are concerned)

Hi Myles, the studio is completely under the radar, but is called prionpie.

It is unique and you're welcome to come check it out anytime.
