G'day all.

Anyone know much about PKE CSC-1 16ch Consoles?

I know they're broadcast consoles, are they of any use for recording? I think maybe they only have one pre...

Any idea of what they're worth?

Thanks in advance.

Coincidentally this video popped up on FB just now. I think the console in the video is PKE but perhaps a slightly different model. Looks very similar though.

Any ideas on its usefulness and/or value?

Yep, that's a CSC-1 in the video. They are a fully modular and customisable console, they were ordered with whatever combination of modules required by the radio station. There have been many go up for auction at the Pickles ABC auctions over the part years and do not fetch much, maybe a $100 or so.

Most of them probably have 3 or 4 mic pre's if they came out of a Radio On Air Studio, they will have Stereo modules for CD players and other sources. Built like a tank, very serviceable. The mic pres are not going to be Neve quality, but will be reasonable. There are 2 stereo output busses and I don't recall if there were any direct outs other than maybe on the Mic pre's. If you want a multi buss or output mixer for recording of multi instrument then it will probably require quite a lot of modification.
