No pricing shown but it wouldn't surprise me if they are just 'fishing' for offers prior to putting it up for auction.

I would buy it... but for two things..

1. I can find a place to put my iPad and iPhone

2. I dont have the money.

okay... I can live with number 1.

:D

Hope it goes somewhere it makes music with lots of people.

cheers

I would buy it..... but for two things........

1. I already have one that is sonically and functionally in the same ballpark.

2. I don't have the money.

okay I can live with number 1.

I've heard that there is a similar one in Melbourne waiting for a studio to be finished. No idea where or who has it but I have it on good authority that it is here.

This is the desk at Preston Records. Maybe this is the one yourve heard about Myles? Here are two pics from their FBook page.
Sometine in the 80's I think

and more recent

I think they are in the throws of restoring it at the moment.
A lot of the Dancehall Raketeers recordings where done on this desk back in the 80's. I used to do some playing with Andy Baylor back in the 70's when he was in the Honeydripers. He would often guest with our band, Terodactyl and the Gliders at our Thurs residency at the Greyhound in St Kilda. Incidently Robert Plant saw the Dancehall Raketeers play in Sydney and got the band to support on his 1986 tour, then went back to England and formed his own Incarnation of the Honeydripers ........ Andy's honeydripper's where much better ;)

Nope, but that's a great looking console. Where is it now? And what exactly is it?

I think it's a Phillips valve console, but far from certain about that. It came from a Melbourne TV station. A while back Graham at Preston Records was having a fund raiser for the console's restoration and also back in July this year there was a Preston Records Rent Party gig for Graham himself. He used to record the bands for the cost of the tape, basically.

So Graham is still active? Sounds like a guy I'd love to meet... can you hook me up?

I don't know him well, but he hasn't worked the studio much since 2010. Best to speak to Rick Dempster, or Andy Baylor. The Thornbury Theatre Rent Party was to help him get the studio going again with studio maintenance and rent. They are definitley a neich concern doing momo live studio recordings on old gear, re creating the live Sun Records vibe and have been doing so since the early 80's before it was a "thing".

This might go well with the EMI console.

That's Norm's. He's had a fair bit of his gear on eBay over the passed year.
