Does anyone have any connections to refurbished Mac Pro's?
I'm looking for a 2013 Mac Pro 6/8/12 core for my Reaper & Kontakt writing rig.
Or if anyone knows of one for sale?

I have a friend in Sydney that has a business doing just that, I can put you in touch with him if you like. I refer people to him often and have not had any complaints.

Thanks Nick!
I'll chase him up.
It's not that easy to find one of the cylinder Macs, but I'm wanting a dead quiet machine - no fan noise...
# but if I have to, I will bypass the 2013 model and build a little iso cab
Anyone else got any used Mac Pro leads?

Re: Refurbished / SH Mac Pro's ?
No Hackintosh for me... never ever ever..
I've been using Macs daily for many decades, with never a problem on well over 20 machines.
I buy spare machines expecting maybe one day I may need to replace / repair - but they continue to work...
I currently have 4 machines running different platforms & OS / including my 2 HD rigs - all working faultlessly
But now I want some core and speed grunt for an extremely large track count project.
(without ProTools - YAY !!!)

yep, that's why I said Hackintosh - just over $5K for the same spec and same O/S - and all top of the line parts. mac evangelists weep.

I reckon I will get out of this for under $4k for an amazingly decent machine.
$21k? - I thought surely this is a typo.
For $20k - I'd rather go on a holiday to Europe, or take 6 months off and drive around Australia, or put a deposit on some really lovely plot of land, or...... anything but spend it on a computer!

I read it as a typo but have costed a Dell for (heavy heavy) studio duties at $10k so, y'know.
