Help: Mesa Boogie Tech

Postby smash » Mon Apr 16, 2018 2:42 pm

Hey Guys,

Need some help here.

I had some equipment in storage for a few months at mum's place. It was moved into a garage that flooded.
Nothing liquid physically touched any equipment, but I'm seeing a lot of surface corrosion on my gear.

Some things like my midi controller are now covered in rust, but I am mostly concerned about my amp, a TriAxis and Stereo simul 2:90

The cases look pretty clean, but there is some corrosion visible near the tube mounts.

I'm not game to even turn them on, can anyone recommend a Mesa Boogie tech in Sydney to assess them?

If they are really stuffed I will fly them to Mesa in the states myself, but I don't want to do that if not necessary.

Thanks in Advance!

Smash.

Anyone?

If not, is there a really epic Amp tech around?

I basically want to know if it is safe to turn on, or if it will risk further damage.

Thanks,

Smash.

You could call Mesa / Pro Audio (Mesa rep in Aus)

They'll both recommend Mark @ Megtronics - mark@megtronics.com

He's the legit Mesa tech in Aus and has been doing it for decades - He re-capped and serviced my vintage Mark II recently and was able to get mesa branded components direct from them etc..

Couldn't recommend him enough.

Although it sounds like any competent tech could probably help you out!
