Musical Equipment Insurance

Postby smash » Mon Jan 09, 2023 4:37 pm

Hi All,

Just wondering who the best (in 2023) is for musical equipment insurance.

My replacement costs are sitting around $40k now, so nowhere near many of you, but it's enough that I would struggle to replace it if they were stolen or damaged.

It's 100% a "hobby" not a business thing, just noodling at home, but in the future I'll be hoping to gig bout once a week or so.

If you're just playing at home you can include your musical equipment on your home insurance, you have to detail and price each item but it will be covered for replacement cost.

Once you start gigging I would recommend Duck for Cover, they insure your gear during transport and storage, but not while you are actually playing on stage. It also includes Public Liability, which is essential if you're gigging.
