Hi there,

I am looking for suggestions as to what people use as protective dust covers for analog consoles over 2m in length.

Is it possible to get them custom made ??
And does anyone in Oz do that ??

What about Ionisers... do they work ??

cheers

neves use to come with a cover,
i met i guy who put his console to bed in one.
but only that one guy.
if you really want one any boat outfitter would sew one for a not to much bread.
poly weld in sydney ?

but why do you want it?
if the air around your console is so bad you think you need a set of pjays then you should not be breathing it
what gives? live? installation,
just a tidy type?

in my experienced ion genators collect a host of sticky black stuff that probably should be near anything you love
but the sound of them drove me nuts

Hi Rick,

I have a converted double garage which is the studio.

It also serves as my live gear garage and therefor the Rolla door is opened 4 or 5 times a week so gear can be loaded in and out of the van.

I was worried about the dust that comes in when the Rolla door is open (and the fact the room is not FULLY sealed) and that would eventually take its toll on my Soundcraft TS 12.

I thought just putting a cover on it each night would be a good idea.
(But I want one that looks aesthetically pleasing ;)

Someone on this list recommended an ioniser as this is meant to be a deterrent against dust.

Just got a fanless ioniser.
Put it in the studio 4 days ago let you know.

Mixer cover I brought cut heavy vinyl at spotlight. Just put over the top.
Would like a nice slip on cover as I have to overlap a lot to make sure it sits down

You could use an ioniser/filter that you turn on when you're not in there. A sheet would be more practical than a heavy vinyl cover, it folds very small and can be washed easily, if you're excited you could trim it down to the size needed.
