Interesting that it is happening shortly after the Sony/BMG merger. Could be just a conincidence..... Why would you close a profitable business?

you would not close a profitable business
maybe you would restructure an inhouse department if you didnt think it made sense to your bottom line.

otto told me the other day that
the neve console that they recently installed will be sold off and the whole place made much smaller to fit in new offices.

so sony will still have a studio of sorts but more inline with current management thinking (or not thinking)


so whos going to buy that neve board....?
start saving

The question is.... will they want the same kind of money they paid for it or will their sale price reflect their current line of thinking, ie the neve isn't worth it for us anymore? If so then someone will walk away with a good deal. If not then I guess the price will reflect its true value.

Otto, would you be able to let the forum know if/when things are up for sale?
