Coke, Fanta or Bonaqua ?

Postby tonymite » Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:13 am

which of these 3 soft drinks are most critical to seperate your recordings from amature recordings?

If I drink Coke - I'm cool but it contains sugar and caffine which in large doses is detramental to my health and keeps me awake.
Fanta taste's great but I will look like such a poof drinking Fanta at a club or a bar - even though I love the taste - and it contains sugar.
Bonaqua is Mineral water = no taste factor.

Can anyone with experience please help me decide which of these to drink ? Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

Very funny. Ha ha ha.

..... although I have perhaps more sympathy for Dax L - we have all been through the gearslutz stage at some point in our life, and it is tempting to think that the one (or is it 3) magic piece of gear will suddenly give us the key to great recordings, rather than learning our craft over the course of many years and painful mistakes.

i've always felt i do my best engineering with a scotch and soda.

refreshing, and still cleans the grime off circuit boards but the sugar wont gum up the faders and pots.

saw "24 hour party people" again and found it inspiring, so now when i'm working i make sure i carry a half bottle of scotch with me at all times.

and if i really need to impress someone, i wear my best coke spoon on a tasteful gold and titanium necklace.

:)

WHAT?

so you think drinking fanta will make you look like a poof,
but drinking mineral water won't?

Whiskey & dry.
But not in the mastering suite.
Coke / Fanta - same thing. Break the mould.

chris p, your insight into tony's disease and subsequent cure is uncanny..

hey tony, come home and get your console operational before you piss about with building those la2a's...... as if the altec's, ssl's, 1176s, and the list goes on aint enough yet..... if not im gonna start recording myself with a hearing aid as a mic..... like (soleas) into my mobile phone.....

if you do get someone legit with a us address to send to, order a few tb4's 4 meee though..... i don't want to learn how to mix.... i just want to collect funny looking audio gear and stack it up into a big awesome pile (awesome as in 10 1176's stacked on top of each other) and just 'look' at it..... like we were gonna do when u and the boys rushed out and bought emu 4 ultras back in the old days........1999 because i wouldnt stop taking your collective ears off about how f -ing fantastic they were..... i still think they shit over anything for certain sounds..... man the opa626....something or other makes for a good opamp to place in front of a quality super high 18bit resolution dac..... fatt like an oberheim....

i'm off to the clinic now...... some retinol should do it.....

i have drunk more cans of coke then a anyone i have ever met
i presume its the sugar but it maybe the caffine, probably both.
i drink it all day, it keeps me feeling the same so i give each song the same attention

there is probably something really wrong with this particular work method,
but i dont drink tea or coffee , dont smoke and have retired hurt from alcohol....
so the studio vote here is coke.

i feel immense sympathy for your stomach rick, may it r.i.p. i don't drink coke as a rule, but a little sleepy at a gig last month, i had a can and a bit - such a drug, actually it reminded me of cocaine, sending a message to my brain - give me more. i don't give it to my kids as a rule but once i let up while on holliday's and within minutes they were both flying high and bouncing off walls, giggling like madmen over nothing at all.

fresh squeezed organic orange juice with mineral water - home made fanta.

aaah you gotta love those mythbuster lads.

i thought one of the myths they proved was that coke can disintegrate a slab of meat. soak the meat in coke, and it'll fall apart.

inspiring.

and as we all know, coke is a great way to clean the ganja and amphetamines off the console circuit boards.

but "brainiac" can go jump. if i wanted to watch bouncing titties, i'd get a copy of benny hill.

and how funny lookin are the meyer dudes!!

they'll out engineer me forever but i'll win in the hair cut department ;)

i can't get addicted to coke (a-cola ;) if its there i'll drink it but it doesn't seem to buzz me and i never want more of it... i'm famous for the line "and a sprite instead of a coke" at any joint that has coke with their meals...

and yes i feel like a nob-head asking for lemonade or lemon squash instead of the easy one universal word "coke"...

has an upside, today had lunch at some italian joint in pyrmont and the italian lemonade they had was great on a hot day like today!

ahhh don't talk to me about coke..... i'm trying to get off it. The fridge here at work is always full of it and I find myself very agitated if I don't get one by 11am or so. Not good.

the issue i had with the 'mythbusters' brown note episode was that they didn't take into account the huge wavelength of such frequencies. but hey - i'm a pedant.

same as how i cant stand the new version of "these boots are made for walking" because whatsherface gets into the General Lee by OPENING THE DOOR

now i dont care what else you say, but that's just WRONG - everybody should know that. the doors dont open. but she probably wouldn't be able to shove her silicon boobies through the tiny li'l window, i guess.

rick - i had been getting the impression (in the low-end scheme of things where i reside) that PC's were the new Macs. not the other way around. don't you have a fanless AMD system yourself? remembering an article in Audio Tech . . .

one last word for you - chinotto

if you resent the ole coca cola for its market share and impact on the dental hygene of indiginous south american tribes, then get some chinotto up yer clacka.

:)

Chinnotto is the work of the Devil!

Man that stuff is so so vile,

once when Me and a friend were at a meeting, we filled up a coke bottle with chinnotto, and put it in the fridge with the rest of the bottles of coke.

when everyone had a drink afterwards, it was plain to see which people were drinking chinnotto.

the looks on their faces said it all!

it was priceless!
