tab v78 remake?

Postby harry » Sat Jun 18, 2005 9:54 pm

hi guys,

does anybody know much about the tab-v78 dual valve mic pre? (reissue)

it seems really good for the price

2x orig style transformers and nos valves, plus additon of stepped gain and switchable impendence? for $975us at fletchers site?

does gunter in Aus sell them?

thinking about either restoring and modding some v72's or v272's but for the price this seems so much eaiser?

have a chat to gunter about this , he had a prototype v72 one floating around for a while i believe the guy who makes them is one of gunters good friends maybe gunter would bring them in ?

i thought it looked wrong ! , even a little cheap and nasty
and very un german.
i discussed this with gunter and reports went back to the maker
so maybe its improved ?
oh yeah - it sounds incredible

My reading of the promo on Mercenary states that it is a single mic pre unit , unless you meant it has two valves? Two mic pre's of that pedigree and at that price would be great !
