I will start with one you wouldn't see very often. This is the kit Barry Harvey showed up with last time i mixed Chain in Melbourne. The snare mic can't be seen but it was a good old SM57. The mics above the toms are TNC, ACM4 ribbons.
Not my favorite mic on the kik but that's what the venue had.
The kit sounded surprisingly good and needed minimal eq i remember cutting around 250Hz from the tom mics a bit.

A recent session at the studio:

Image

Pearl kit form the 80's, maple shell in a blingin' chrome finish. Remo powerstroke top heads, tuning came out real nice! Mics were:

Kick - Audix D6 & subkick. Subkick was swapped out for 2 songs for a 121, slightly angled about 20cm away from the outside head.
Snare - StrĂ¥sser/beyer M69 top & bottom
Hats - beezneez lulu
tom 1 & 2 - 421-U
floor - 421-2 (white tuchel model)
ride - akg 451 (newer model)
oh's - beezneez arabellas
rooms - cascade fatheads (non lundel version, hoping to upgrade these very shortly!)
kitchen/trash 1 & 2 (not pictured) - akg 414s

Came out very natural sounding just the way the drummer & band wanted. Haven't had a good, thorough play with the lulu's as overheads yet but very keen to for an upcoming bands album in november!

Cheers :D
