Cool. I remember recording him years ago & the thing that struck me was how well balanced the drums sounded from his playing.

Good video, nice and casual etc. Liked the nose pick around 9:50.......at least he didn't eat it.
...and I wonder what the little amp was with the Neuman U 87 in front.

Great drummer - must have done at least 10 albums with Hamish - never needed a compressor on anything at all.
Totally fluid player, 100% tuned in to the music, and a lovely man in the studio - nothing is ever a problem.
IME - the older drummers get - the better they become, they drop all the showy chops and speak music.

The amp I believe is an old Roland bass cube in one of the stylish colours of the day, orange. And atop the amp a sansamp bass driver.

Aha!....The old Roland bass cube. We have a cream colored one in the school's music dept. The Gallien Krueger of the 80's,
Thanks Barney.

Just saw Hamish playing at a benefit gig for John McConnell on Friday night. As tasteful as ever!
