I had never heard of these drums before.....they are australian made..

anyone got any experience with them..

The old top of the range kits seemed a crazy price to me. But by total contrast, these Omega kits are INCREDIBLE value for money I think.
I saw a few set up in a store. They look very well made, and the price is stupidly low compared to similar spec kits I think.

I actually have a Sleishman 20" BD for sale atm..... they are excellent, and I'm not just saying that because I'm selling one.

The suspended shell means that both skins are tuned against one another at the same time. Having different gauge front and back skins will change the note, but the tension is equal.

The top of the line models (like mine) are equal to anything and the Omegas are great value for money. I'd rate them as good as anything I've ever played / heard - the 20" BD sounds like a 22"-24" when compared to most other brands.

I've recorded a one or two Sleishman kits, but it's been a while. Unfortunately I didn't particularly like the drummers I've recorded on those kits - they seemed to be more about the drums than the music, if you know what I mean. That's not a criticism of the drums, and it's just my experience of course.

Sleishman.........probably the only "true" floating shell drums around, also, the originator of the double (or twin) pedal...........well apart from a "primitive" system Sonor produced many, many decades ago.

Up until "a few" years ago, most of the hardware on Sleishman drums was virtually hand made by Don S in the small factory in Sydney. In the early days Jasper shells were imported, then for a long time Keller shells were used and in later years a local "builder" either custom veneered Keller shells or supplied locally made shells. With no disrespect meant, it wasn't a realistic way to maintain a viable business. As I understand things, since Don semi retired there has been a streamlining/rationalisation (read into that what you may).............I can only assume this has been a positive move.

fyi I did a side by side comparison of the BFD Slei... with the real thing - it failed pretty miserably in my ears

I'm sure if it was different enough to "fail miserably" Sleishman wouldn't put their name to it.

Jeez, you'd hope so..

I think it's all good publicity, plus the drum sample companies routinely sample and name the drums and the makers have no say in stopping them.
Is it officially endorsed by Sleishman? I didn't think it was.

I don't know who endorses what or gets payment for what - I'm independent and not endosed or payed by anyone so my opinion is my opinion - nothing more / nothing less..... and I meant no disrespect to the talented guy who sampled the Sleis.

.... and I could equally have said that "joe blogs'" samples of xyz Gretsch kit fails pretty miserably when compared side by side to my Gretsch kit, but it was BFD / Sleishman in the thread.

.... and I did say "failed pretty miserably in my ears" but what's "pretty" and "in my ears" when I'm given the honour of being quoted?
