I'm diggin the sound under the freeway. But the first one with the graffiti on the wall is my fave...I have a soft spot for shotgun snares.

Thoughts on they did the recording? I'm impressed by the technicality of it and seriously can't see how they've done it unless they have used impulse responses.

There was a short making of video;

Looks like they're just running a click and shooting in several different spaces...sync them...then chop in time with the beat.

wasn't thinking of the filming was thinking of the sound. Seems pretty good for recording at distance.

I'm guessing they've used additional close mics (on wireless transmitters or hidden behind the kick) for kick and snare...as well as the stereo field mics.

just thoughts...

I can't remember where I read it, but apparently dry tracks were done in the studio then they used a pair of schoeps distant mics on location to capture the ambience.

That makes sense. I looked at the making of video (I love recordings in strange acoustic spaces) and it wasn't particularly clear to me as it was in french but the schoeps stereo pair just didn't look reasonable for the balance of wet/dry.

That's interesting Nath...so he played to the studio tracks in his phones and the drumming in the video was for ambience recording only. He's pretty good!

Yeah I could imagine an Audi driving past in a couple of scenes and then Voila!...a car ad!

I don't know about the technicalities of it. It may very well be the case that the vision is entirely staged, with the ambience audio simply recorded per-shot in each location and added to the dry audio in post production.

Either way, cool video!
