Hi everyone, Just thought I'd ask what mic people are using for live vocals these days other than a 58. I'm really enjoying the Audio Technica 710 at the moment. It just seems so smooth & easy.

on a whim, I bought one of those lampifier mics. Its phantom powered, has a compressor and gate built in.

works well. Sounds good, done maybe 30 gigs with it so far...still works.

that, SM58, OM5 are what I usually use.

I have been using various CAD mics of late, good sound and priced right.

im still a B58 guy
BUT i was using a B87 on passenger - it just worked - though i usually dont like them.

and a few times recently i have used the Heill one (cant remember the number, but the vocal one) and have to say i really like it.
if i was doing lots of live touring at the moment id be buying some for sure.

Sm58 is boaring but still works for me.. not as hard/harsh and beta and audix. sennheisers are good, but my system tune and all the other mics go a bit whacky, so i avoid them.

my current favourite, the Blue 200.. it looks... umm... have a look.

but the sound is simply amazing. the low end detail is like i have never heard before, clarity without harsh... i love it... except for the look.

I usually like an SM58, but have really loved the wireless Sennheiser E965 recently for a classy vocal, although I have not tried this in a rock situation yet.
