It's all good, no ruffled feathers here. Those are great prices for what those are (less so for the Zed, but to each their own). I figure if someone wants this thing and thinks I'm asking too much, they'll make an offer, and we'll haggle.

If you don't want to buy it but simply think my arbitrary starting price is somehow too high, well, I'm not sure why you would care?

Anyway, thanks for the bump!

Here's another bump from a crusty old pirate :ar! ......
I have often posted in the past if I thought an asking price was too high.
I won't speak for Paul or Rick but just offer a friendly explanation of why I would care to post as Paul did.
This forum has been around for quite a few years and has always had as much as is possible a "tell it like it is" philosophy that underpins most of what is posted and discussed. I think this is an authentic expression in a public forum context of what Rick is on about and what was often more that obvious in his articles when he wrote for the [ now mostly waste of paper ] Audio Technology Mag.

So to tell it like it is, I have seen the Mix wiz regularly sell for under $700. Now I will acknowledge it's not the practice here to bomb a fellow forum members potential for a sale. It's also not the practice to shy away from quoting realistic options. If your mix wiz is brand spanking new condition and the $700 option is missing a knob or two then prospective purchasers can make their choice knowing the options.
If this forum became a place for the sale of gear at prices that don't reflect reality it will have no reason to exist and no more credibility that the countless ho hum alternatives that exist in the wider audio community.
Hope you don't get your tape in a tangle.

I dunno. I think A .Beck's earlier posts made it pretty clear that the price is what he wants for the desk and that it is negotiable if you are really interested. If the price is pitched too high then he/she gets to keep the desk - and that the price is high in this instance has also been clearly made. There's no rule that the For Sale section must be a bargain - the trouble is that often you do get bargains (or at least fair market price) there so we tend to come with expectations of a good deal.
