Re Help Ribboning My Torpedo Mic

Can anyone point me to a local supply of foil to re ribbon this mic. Has anyone had experience with these? How good do they sound when working well? This one has a home made ribbon from hand beaten alfoil and has an earth hum, due i suspect to not being sheilded or grounded properly.

we have had i think 3 old mics re-ribboned by glen phimester in sydney, i couldn't recommended him highly enough. i've never tried to do it myself, but i've seen/heard the results of others DIY-ing it... save yourself the trouble, send it to glen.

he will also tidy up any other issues, including your earth hum.
