What's the nugget sound good on?

I, like Ben, haven't had this happen, but in my case it's because I haven't been doing this for long enough. But I have a feeling that one day I'll "come across" the four Calrec modules I have stuffed in my cupboard.

Yes, Ben, one's that 1656 compressor you sold me. I still haven't done anything with it.

David, it'll work much better in your rack than in your cupboard.

Just an update - there is no update.

DIYmic.com have not yet responded to my order request, so I still don't have the final price. For those of you who asked to see if alternate mic kits could be included the answer is - I still don't know.

OK, another update. They've now decided they can't fit six mics into one box, so they've said it will require two boxes which kicks the postage up to US$95 (making the per unit cost US$86).

As a result I've now asked them if they can fit any more mic kits in to handle the stand-by requests.

Anyone else whose buying the 87 clones pcb's considering using the mouser cart from the group diy thread?
The mouser parts list is $38 USD plus $25 USD for shipping. If another person wants to jump on it would be a total of $50.50 USD which equates to around $47 AUD. It'll probably save me a couple of hours writing up the order in Farnell or other. Let me know if you want to join the order. Cheers

Cool Nick, that's you and Myles in on the order. Anyone else?

The terminal pin that keeps the FET lead off the pcb is not available from mouser atm. But it seems we can bend the middle FET leg out and solder the lead directly to the floating leg. I'll take this off the order as mouser are saying they won't have them til late march (-|

I'll look at ordering once the mic order is confirmed. Will send you a pm then with final price etc...

Peace

Correction;
The terminal pin is available from 27th feb so should be able to include in the order. The components list looks to be around $27 USD per mic...plus sharing in the $30 shipping from mouser to OZ.
Also looks to be a group buy going for the peluso K87 capsule over at group DIY. Would be a nice addition for this build.

Hi guys - an update on the mic order.

The delay is my fault this time - over the weekend I sustained a rather bad injury to a private part of my male anatomy, and - well frankly - getting the mics ordered dropped down the list of priorities there for a bit.

I'm back on it now.

Not quite - more "high impact" related, requiring hospital visits, ultrasounds, ice packs, plus I am now scheduled for minor surgery for a ruptured blood vessel.

The inconvenience and humiliation factor is quite high however.
