De-soldering tool

Postby andygriffiths » Thu Oct 04, 2012 9:19 am

Hi, looking at getting a de-soldering tool so I can do some mods to my console. Just wondering which ones I should be looking at.

Cheers Andy

Rhino tools do a nice vacuum desolderer for about $170.

Worth the investment if you've got a lot of mods to do

Good price. If you can afford it, get the vacuum one. Best thing I ever bought. Seriously.

Hey Guys,

Any more thoughts and experiences with these Rhino desordering units?
I think it's time i got one (heap of old synths and bits of gear to recap)

This Rhino one looks okay but i would rather use braid than get a desolder that doesn't cut it.

I have a few hundred caps to get through (probably even more than a few hundred) so i figure i need one of these..

Cheers
