Ok guys this is blunt and to the point, these guys need cash not me I'm doin fine, they are protecting the majestic humpback whales who frequent our eastern coastline, they are serious and so am I. 50 Humpbacks will most likely be slaughtered in an extremely inhumane manner by the Japanese whalers if Aussies don't start doing something now.
If you can spare a few bucks, even just a 5 bucks PLEASE send it to seashepherds "Operation Migaloo" now, not next week but right now.
I'm really pissed off about this and so should anyone be.

Rick, if ya want me to delete this post no probs, but I'm sure you agree. If the post stays I'm going to keep a tally of whats happening over summer.

Cheers Rick, Turtles helping Whales, cool concept, hehe.
Convincing people to help anywhere is a start, this is in our backyard and has to stop by any means possible. The whales in our harbour the other day may not return after summer, they may end up in little plastic packets in Japanese supermarkets.
If I did'nt have a brain injury I'd be happy to be on one of those Seashepherd ships, but since my injury I can't stand the cold in Sydney let alone the Antarctic. So I'm just gonna do what I can.
I'm sure you can even claim donations on tax returns also.
Anyway I'm not going to hassle anyone, but if your feeling generous and can spare just a few bucks as Rick said "even just for a litre of diesel" you have helped.
A small amount of goodwill always comes back 10 fold, in the scheme of life.

and the irony is that over here in SA, we have an island ( Kangaroo Island ) that had Koalas introduced to it years ago. The Koalas have bred like rabbits and are totally distroying the native vegetation of the island, to the point of soil erosion around acres of dead trees. It has been recommended that they should be culled, however the state government won't agree to this because of fears of the impact on tourism. The Island is a favorite for japanese tourists who just love Koalas and these Japanese tourists would be unconsolable if the Koalas were culled.
It has been suggested that they should go ahead and cull them and call it scientific research.
R :(

Heath,
It was good to hear that on 2Day FM this morning Isobel Lucas rang in to the show and promoted www.seashepherd.org and www.savethewhales.com as well. She was right into it - apparently there was a warrant for her arrest - she is quite the protestor..
Apparently, 77% of Japanese people are AGAINST whaling - sort of makes you ask why aren't "THEY" doing something about it as well - Hmmm...
Tim..

Well done Graemeh! The Whales will surely appreciate that I reckon.
It's not hard to move a bunch of Koalas to the mainland to repopulate areas where Koalas have had it tough.
Geez Tim I hope they don't put out 1 on me, I'm peaceful protester, no crazy stunts here, I'm trying to generate some moolah in a quiet way, but each to thier own and anyone who has the guts to protest for a good cause is a champion.
I dunno why they even eat the stuff, whale and dolphin meat is chockas full of mercury and probably other stuff too.

"Oh and I heard on the news they are targeting a particular albino humpback, the only one left alive I understand. The meat from this one has been pre-sold.
I say good on the people who do this work and try and stop the slaughter, it's easy for us to sit in our arm chairs and criticize, but at least they are out there doing something practical about it. I wish them all luck - do whatever it takes - and even if they can only stop half the slaughter count, then that surely is of some benefit to the species, and the planet."

From Seashepherd enews:
After months of preparation and hard work by Sea Shepherd staff and volunteer crew, Operation Migaloo is under way. Our newly renamed whale defense ship, the Steve Irwin, has embarked on its mission to defend the whales in the Antarctica Whale Sanctuary.
Terri Irwin has granted the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society permission to rename its ship formerly known as the Robert Hunter in honor of her late husband, Steve Irwin.
Sea Shepherd is proud to partner with Terri Irwin to launch Operation Migaloo, as she and Steve have been world renowned for their conservation work. Terri knows that Steve would have been extremely honoured to be acknowledged in this way, as he shared Sea Shepherd's passion for saving whales.
