Flamenco guitar site

To extend my brain I have been studying flamenco guitar this year - very different from my classical guitar training, but a rich source of musical ideas.

Flamenco is based on a cyclical rhythm foundation known as a compas: each style and group of songs has its own compas. These are a long way from the 4/4 we know and love. A common one is to have 12 beats to a cycle, but even then the emphasis falls on different beats for different compas. So its a little hard to get the head around it and to visualise what is going on.

Which is a long introduction for http://www.flamencocompas.nl. You select the song style from the right hand menu, and watch how the compas underlies the song. Enjoy!
