Anyone bought/installed/used kits by these guys?

http://highlyliquid.com/kits/retrofit.html

I love the sound of my dinky li'l Yamaha CS01 and was thinking of getting the midi kit (- have to gut the speaker unfortunately to fit it inside LOL!).
I don't know anything about PIC technology but apparently its basically a midi-to-keymatrix encoder.

SWEET!
Never played with an SK1 but they're all the rage with the circuit bending community it seems.

They are kinda cool.. a bit of a one trick pony, and pretty easy to find when you don't seem to be looking for them.
Everyone keeps any eye out for a 'casio' sk-1... but 'realistic' made a rebadged one too. (hint)

I just discovered this one:

http://highlyliquid.com/kits/md24/

But I do not think I could put it together. What I want is one of those MD24 units (it seems you can buy it preassembled) to create 24 gate outputs
for various purposes. It would be nice in a 1 RU unit with 3.5mm sockets and I could then use the Octopus to trigger pages of gate pulses
to any of my analogue gear! How much would it cost to make one of those up? I just checked and a preassembled MD24 is about AUD75 but
I would still need to get the case/sockets made up...

I can make something up for you.. 1 RU with mini jacks on front or back + midi in & thru on back.

PM sent

Actually I've also just noticed this..
http://highlyliquid.com/midi-controllers/midi-cpu/

which is cheap enough to use as the basis for customised dedicated controllers for any old midi rack synths (a là the PG300 or PG800 boxes for the juno/JX synths).

Hmmm, that's got me thinking.. I'd get more use out of my MKS50 and TX81Z that way! More knobs and sliders! I guess it would depend on how well it handled sysex.
