Inspiration from old bits of crap.

Just musing,

but isn't it funny, how some synths seem to have a song or two in them?

ie, I was playing with my newest purchase, a Korg Lambda and it's a bit of an oddball..
But within minutes of playing it, some cracking songs started to come out of it.

I dunno what it is, but it's rather inspiring. To me, this re-assures me that there are still some very cool synths out there that are not that well known. (And sometimes cheap!)

I certainly know I could never get this inspired by a PC or a soft synth. (Not starting a war, but this is the vintage synth forum)

I know exactly what you mean. I recently rebuilt my room to make it more muso less engineer, so I got a few of my old synths fired up and hardwired in. I spent most of the day playing with the Jupiter4 arpeggiator and then wrote a track based around it's lfo just pulsing away. I never in a million years would have ended up where I did with a computer. Mind you, once you leave where you got to with a vintage synth it can be quite hard to find your way back, kinda like an electronic Hansel and Gretel.

Hi there,

Mike...I used to be like that !

I'd get a new synth and find a *magic sound* and the inspiration for a song
would come straight out....I even remember the one from the Lambda that I had in 1980 !
