Bought a dodgy Blofeld

Postby waldojeffers » Wed Oct 06, 2010 5:14 pm

Hey guys,

My used blofeld arrived today and the last key on the right is kinda jammed or something, I need to push the key down hard and then pull it back in oder to use the key. The preset selector (?) knob is also really loose and barely screwed in (this isn't too worrying i don't think). Do I ask the seller in hopes of getting some money to repair it? How much might repairs be? Or do I ask for a full refund?

Thanks

Hi there,

If it was from Fleabay you can most probably get some resolution.
Did you pay via paypal ?

cheers

Hello yep it's from fleabay and I payed with paypal. Which resolution should I be striving for though? A full refund or ask for some money for repairs. How much would the jammed key cost to fix approx.?

Hi there,

Well...you obviously want to keep it !
I personally would open it up and take a look(and thats about the extent of my tech knowledge!)
It is most probably a spring that may have come off.
Otherwise at least $60 bench charge plus about $15 for the key plus postage.

If it goes thru paypal they will want to go thru a full refund.(usually)

If you contact the seller directly....

You..You sent me this Blofeld and its got a broken key..
Him...it was fine when I sent it to you!
Your call.

Cheers

Unless you paid top dollar for a "perfect condition" machine....

Pull it to bits and put it back together again, clean anything that looks grubby. If that fails then only you can decide if it is worth paying for a repair.

The seller still after many days has not contacted me back. They are not prepared to do anything about this.

I've now noticed that the key does not work because there is a massive kink in the outside shell of the keyboard which is pushed inwards so the key can not get passed it.

I want to now contact paypal and see if they can help me get a full refund.

Just open up a paypal dispute. that'll get the sellers attention pretty damn quick when the money gets ripped from their account and held by paypal until the dispute is resolved.
