...And this one has some issues and look at the price, I thought that was about what 100% good one's cost?

...And surely this one wont sell, will it?

That one with the dud keys will be a piece of pi55 to fix up also.. seriously, 1/2 hour job. If that.

If you have anything with one non working key, it's nearly always the contacts.. if the keys that are non working, say all 7 semitones apart, thats pretty much always a corroded track from someone spilling softdrink on the keyboard - thats maybe an hour job.

101's do rock tho, not sure if they are worth $1k.. I'll sell one of mine for $950. lol.

Cheers
Mike

Nope, they're awesome but a G or thereabouts is ridiculous. It's just because they are the favourite of the stamp-collector poser kids who never use them but want to impress their mates. Such a waste in those hands...

Anyone ever seen the super-rare white one? Must be like spotting a unicorn.

Yeah, I gotta say I wouldn't be forking out that much for one.

Regarding the white 101's, I think it's either a straight out myth or maybe there was a handful (say 5 or less) made that never made it out of Japan. i remember seeing a post on a YouTube vid where someone reckons there was also a limited quantity of army green one's but I've never seen proof of either - except custom jobbies of course.

But getting back to the price, i guess I'm just shocked at how fast they'd climed from about 750 to almost 1000.

And that Jupiter-8 that sold for 8k on eBay Aus recently, I'm positive the last few for sale in Aus went for about 4 to 5k earlier in the year - looks like prices here have followed suit with our American counterparts - JP8's never went for that much here before the insane prices we've begun to see just this year.

I got mine for $599 about 2 years ago. I decided to go for it while they were still
in the cheapish range. When the 101 was new, I sort of ignored them, but it seemed like
a good idea this time! BTW, those green ones - are you sure they are not just discoloured
by a heavy smoker? I saw an MC-202 that a friend had that turned green from all the smoking around it
and I saw another one online not so long ago.

I *think* I saw a white one back in the late 90's in a secondhand shop on the Charing Cross road in London... course that was quite a while ago, not sure if it was painted, and, well, my memory is not what it used to be.

hmm, Yeah It's weird, price trends seem to be so illogical on eBay. They vary from about 700 to as much as 1000, and it doesn't seem to have as much to do with things like condition and such but more to do with bidding competition and whoever really wants one at the time.

For example a not so great condition Juno 106 with noisy outputs that has sat on like $200 for a majority of it's listing just finished up at $1000 - crazy eh. :-s

HAHA! over 4k for a TR808? that's almost as bad as a 2.3k pro one.

I can't imagine this drum machine is actually going to have someone hand over that much money for it. What's the odds on it popping back up on ebay in the next week?
