Juno 60 arp clock issue

Yeah G'day,
IM HURTING HERE PEOPLE!!
I am able to clock the arpeggiator from an external source. The issue is that the arpeggiator runs in a random pattern, irrespective of whether ARP is set to 'up' 'up&down' or 'down'. The arp does work fine with no external clocking.
I have tried many different sounds (808,909 rimshots) out of Pro Tools, and similar sounds from MPC1000.

Anyone seen this???

thanks,
Oly.

Hello Oliver,

I don't think an 'audio' sound sample will trigger the arpeggiator properly.

Something like a short (20ms) pulse (square wave) should work better as that's what would come out of an 808 trigger output for instance. See if you can find a sample of the 808 trigger online?

Some people actually use the trigger output as another sound. It's the Zap sound you hear on Egyptian Lover records...

Maybe someone with an 808 can sample the trigger out and email it?

It should ideally be a 5v pulse for a very short duration... 5-20ms

You audio wav is triggering the arp multiple times with each sample.. Hence the semi random results.

There are simple schematics for audio to 5v trigger.

Alternatively , some people sell them on eBay etc.

Hey thanks dudes!!
yep the DC pulse did the trick. Actually as it turns out, the default click track sound on MPC1000 is a little DC pulse!

thanks again,
Oly,.
