I'm having a brain fade today.
I'm trying to record some analogue synths into PTLE 7.4 via an Mbox2.
I select input 1 on the audio track, plug my synth into DI 1 on the Mbox and can hear the synth through the monitors.
Question:
When I arm the audio track, the VU jumps to full green. Looks like feedback. But I can't hear anything wrong and the synth sounds fine.
I've tried 'input only monitoring' and 'auto input monitoring' and it's the same result with both.
Grr, I did this a few months ago with no issues. I've just forgotten how to set it up.

yeah this happens a bit, it's usually just the mbox freaking out (i know it shouldn't, i know PTLE is shite yadda yadda yadda).
anyway, usually have to pull out the usb cable (thus resetting the mbox) and plug back in. restart PT. usually works, although sometimes needs to be done once or twice. failing that, a hard restart should do it.
i have always suspected that the MBox really wants more juice than the USB can supply, but i'm just guessing about that.
