Before I bought it I saw several allusions to a mod that turned them into an 8 channel pre rather than an 8 channel distortion box.
The idea was that I could get one, add something like the JLM Go-between to each channel, perform (or cause to have performed) the magical mic-pre mod.
Voila, 8 channels of valve mic preamplification for a few hundred bucks!
Now that I have it I can't actually find any information on such a mod :(
