Just stumbled on this on the web- pretty interesting for a very quick and sloppy test on how accurate your setup is- I certainly had a few notches in the bass.

See if you can track down a disc called 'Chesky Records Jazz Sampler' (or something similar) - it's got some infinitely useful calibration tests including the LEDR test Katz goes on about and some 'true stereo' pan / depth examples. Very worthwhile tracking down a copy.

+1 for the chesky disc, .......although it does approach the daggy "white coat brigade" end of the audio engineer spectrum from time to time.
