Hi everyone,
My name is Lee and I took over Eastern Bloc Studios in Hawthorn, Vic about a year and a half ago.
It's been a much bigger challenge than I thought I was in for, but the transformation is finally complete. I give many thanks to all the hard work contributed by my family, friends, and local engineers who put forth their time and expertise to make this all happen, and it will not be forgotten! It took a year longer than I expected it to, but the studio is now operational at a much higher level than ever I imagined it would be, so, super!
I invite you all to check out the new webpage: http://www.easternblocstudios.com
and I'm always happy to meet a new face, so if you want to come check it out don't be shy and let me know
I'm planning to hold frequent events and gatherings for engineers and musicians, so if you'd like to be included in these I suggest you pm me your email address so you're not left out! I will shortly be sending out a brief which will aim to outline the functionality of the studio, as far as you are concerned, so things like room dimensions, wiring schemes, equipment lists etc.. so again, shoot me your email and I'll make sure you get this
I do look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming months,
and for the time being, here's a few pictures of the fresh space

Hi Lee,
Great to see how the studios coming along!

Ah, Cash! I knew I had seen the photo before- but to be honest I think of Cash as an old man, not a young man so it didn't cross my mind. I guess that's the benefit of dying young...

Not only does it look great, it sounds great.
I recorded my bands album at EBS a couple of months ago and the results are awesome, and Lee is great to work with and has fine taste in gear and mics.

Re: Hello from Eastern Bloc Studios!
thanks Mark,
Was listening to your stuff last night actually, any gigs coming up?
FIRST EVENT CONFIRMED! *** SUNDAY JUNE 12th *** OPEN DAY WITH LIVE RECORDING
Bags Grove Quartet (drums, upright, keys, sax) will be recording two live sets
that way everyone can come see the studio and a great band in action, and hear the results first hand
I might even try and setup some kind of A/B between tape and Logic for everyone to check out
I'll get some kind of flyer together and confirm times, but it'll probably be just after lunch / early afternoon
i'll post again anyway when I've got all the details, but keep it in mind
