Studio in a cool room?

Postby thephil » Tue Nov 22, 2011 7:52 pm

Hi y'all,

Anyone ever built a space in a cool room? I just noticed one for lease and thought that setting a space up in one might save on some acoustic isolation treatment!

Am I wrong?

Most cool rooms are insulated with styrofoam, great for temperature, pretty useless for sound.

i used to reahearse in a large cool room for years, sounded good and sound proof as hell ,was built with asbestos and insulation of some sort(wasnt styrofoam) could have been made into a good recording space
