it's tempting, but I wonder what's inside it? The rotating speaker would foul the fixed horn I think.

I know the seller (Paul) - he used to work on cruise ships and began collecting Leslies and various organs eons ago.

I can't remember the suburb exactly but I know it's on the way to Bundeena...

guys you really wouldn't want to bother with this one. it's cheap for a reason. you'll wish you had've saved your money and put it towards a leslie that actually sounds like a leslie. trust me.

i've bought off paul before, contact me for more info.

This is a Leslie on steroids...........would still prefer an un modded one though i suspect.....it's the tone not the volume.

Buying a Leslie

Postby headman » Tue Aug 05, 2008 8:52 pm

I would not go for the "Leslie on steroids" either. What makes a Leslie is the tiny little 40 watt valve amp screaming to be heard. If you want it louder mic it up and/or put it through a amp and use the vibrato/chorus knob to get THAT sound.
Leslie models 122 and 147 are the ones to go for, forget the vinyl and newer models, they do not break up well and that's the point of the whole exercise.
Believe me there is no such thing as a cheap Leslie cause I bought the last one:I swapped a Ta@#$% DA 30 for a 122 and an L series Hammond. I think I got the best part of the deal.
