Torpedo Ribbon Mic ?

Postby Chris H » Wed Oct 12, 2005 11:52 am

Just wondering how good these can sound. I have one that has had a "back yard repair" job done in replacing the ribbon. Alfoil was corrigated and used for the job but has streched so is no longer under tension.
It is easy to gain acess to replace the ribbon. What should i use?
Any hints or advise to get it to original performance. I'm not expecting RCA or Coles sound quality but these were ok for their day and i'm hoping to get a lo fi type sound that is usable for some applications.
