What does it do? I know - if I have to ask, I'll never understand it!

BTW
I am looking for a box to pack my SH-101 in, so you can fix it.
Won't be long.... ;)

It's a 4 bit shift register chip. I thought of Futurelec, but it is a lottery as to whether an order from them will arrive this year. I think I may be able to get one on backorder from RS.

I was wondering if I'd bought any spares, as that's something I tend to do while getting parts I might need for other things later.... but I don't see any where they should be if I had them.... and I remember I was pretty tight with getting parts for that, as it needed a lot of them.

did you ever get that futurlec order you posted about the a few months ago? I have ordered a few times from them, $100-ish both times, and got everything in a few days. but some people have reported 3-4 weeks and no contact, when they ordered something that was out of stock.

I did get that order eventually, took a few weeks and some emails, on their order page they say 8-10 days.
