Man.. I've now made a few projects with help from the kind people at midibox, (2 Sequencers) and I've just finished the gritty bit of another, and it's a killer.
I've built my version of one of their Sid synths, and this thing is a monster.
All the electronics are taken care of, now it's all cosmetic from here on in.
I'm planning on sticking it inside an old bang and olufsen stereo with a 2 octave keyboard. - kinda looks like a massive atari2600
It's got EIGHT SID chips under the hood, Which is the same sonic power as 8 Commodore 64's.. And it sounds mad! Each SID has 3 oscilators and 1 filter.. (24 oscilators in total)
You can run it in a super poly mode, which is 4 voice poly, with each voice being 2 SID chips (6 oscillators + 2 multimode analogue filters), running in true stereo.. Thats one massive polysynth!
I'm still playing with it, but it's 4:00am and I'm at work, so I thought I'd brag a little.
Regards
Mike

ummm... doesn't that describe 50% of commodore 64 games?
I've just found a funky thing it does, which is kinda like the korg monopoly with it's voice rotation.. except way better. Crystal Castles better watch out, at least I won't be stealing other peoples riffs. (We do steal samples of crappy 70's & 80's tracks all the time tho)
