Yeah that baby's in my watch list. Looks pretty clean. No way I'm going to be able to go for it though, other gear costs must be met!
Love the styling of that era of Akai. Boxy eighties off-colour fresh.

Haha I love that!
Analogue Volvo: coolest sythpop/electro-dork band name ever?
I feel I'm going to have to name a track that at the very least, if you don't mind of course. ;)

I do have one, I finally got a RAM card for it courtesy of Innerclock, as that is the only way to save patches. I don't play it much, it is acting up a bit so I need to service it. I put a new backlight panel in earlier in the year, I want to sell or trade it but I just have to get around to pulling it out and finding out what's up with it, the computer keeps re-setting when it warms up.

I would be interested further down the track when you've serviced it. (I'd bid on the one on eBay now but my funds are channeled elsewhere).
Please keep me in mind. :)

Hi there,
HHHmmm.....pity about the problems....I had a S 612 ,S900, S1000, S1100, S 3200, S5000,S6000
and NEVER had any problems with them...in fact ...still got the S612 from 1985 !!
(and it works fine!)
I thought Akai were one of the good guys (meaning when i sold synths for 15 years
I can't remember ever sending an Akai back to Australis)
Ensoniq on the other hand....... ;-)

When I think of the absolute hell that the S1000's and MPC-60's went through year in-year out on the INXS world tours, they are amazingly tough. The MPC-60's were just unbreakable, and endured terrible power from generators at outdoor festivals, constant travel in trucks, and they just kept going.

Can't remember, it was so long ago, I don't think so, when we did songs like "The One Thing" we took a Prophet on the road. I did sample those sounds into the Korg Triton Extreme a few years back, and the samples sounded fantastic.
