DigiLink Cables?
Does anyone know if there is an alternative (cheaper) generic computer cable for replacing the DigiLink cable? Thanks!

Re: DigiLink Cables?
Hi James,
i don't know the answer directly, but i would suggest asking a cable specialist store.
here is a web address the type of place i'm talking about (as found on google, no association!)
http://www.4cabling.com.au
there's a chance that the cable is caled something else in the real world.
EG: i was asking around about a MADI cable for my SSL converters, and after about 10 phone calls i decided to look on the SSL site to see if they offer a replacment. i found the answer in their FAQ section.
turns out that the cable i was after was caled a multimode fibre cable, which only cost me $30 (i'm sure if it had Digidesignwritten on it, it'd cost twice the price!) and i had a single mode one which was my problem....
if you have a cable shop local to you, i'd suggest taking and example of the Digilink cable to them, see what they suggest.
good luck mate!

Re: DigiLink Cables?
I *think* it's just a standard Infiniband cable (4x, latch type). Although digi could always have messed with the pinout.
Try:

And fibre cables are a whole world of fun (there's four main types of multimode, many dozens of slight variants of single mode, and don't even start on the connectors)
