Mark there where a few threads on gearslutz about them.
Do a search.
I do not think there is much concensus..
Although most people said the new Neves were good. Not cheap.
Also you have Vintech, Brent Averill, Shep(I have) as well as others.
Have fun hope you can get some to test. If you want to borrow the Shep sing out..

Hi Mark,
Are you handy with a soldering iron?
They are clonable, I have made a pair.

It's easier than you'd think. I'm actually going to make another pair soon, they are that handy.

Well Mark, I think an option worth thinking about is a pair of Telefunken V672.These have a pedigree sound and can be purchased with a power supply from Sonic Circus or a few other places in Europe and Rick has the racks to put em in. If he still has some. The only down side is , they don't have the Neve label or the look alike of a clone ,but bang for buck are better than the clones IMHO.

i'm going to try the chandler 1073, although isn't the abbey road the emi tg clones?? not sure?
GTA has some nice stuff and the class A 1081 looks nice but it doesn't come with the authors wrap.
i'd like to try the V672 at some point but a neve pre eq is the next sound i need,

The Chandler 1073 clone is the LTD-1. The Chandler Channel is a good buy also... a bit cheaper. If you buy the Chandler Channel make sure you get the newest one which may not be in Australia yet. It has more input gain (old one 55db, new one 65db), but if you can only get the old Channel make sure you can get it modified for free.
Just a note: There maybe a big rise $ in the near future on the TG2. Apparently it has a few more features like impediance and I think a summing feature.........$200US rise in price could be more.
I have the TG2, TG Channel and the LTD-1.....they're all great and all different.
TG2........................two preamps only in a rack
Chandler Channel....one preamp with EQ in a rack
LTD-1.....................one preamp with EQ in a rack
No compressors on any of the above units
The power supply is an extra cost, but one power supply will run two rack units.
