First time poster, long time lurker...
I have a 240V OB1 which is having some issues...It has been at my tech's for a LONG time - read years - and I've finally told him I need it back so I can send it to someone who can repair it properly. Can anyone recommend me a tech who'd be happy to work on it? I am just south of Brisbane, and have already asked Watsons - they declined. I'd be happy to post it off to the right person.
Cheers

Re: Oberheim OB1 help
Watson's are very experienced, they've helped me out many times.. But I guess that was with Roland stuff. What are the issues with this synth?

Re: Oberheim OB1 help
The original fault was that oscillator 2 was almost silent...that was fixed, and then the keyboard started scaling backwards ie playing l>r made the pitch lower...he got that sorted and now the overall volume of the synth is very low. He is a very competent tech and builds pre's, amps etc, but i think the synth has had him stumped a little. Basically Im going to collect it tomorrow and I want to send it to someone who will sort it out once and for all.

Re: Oberheim OB1 help
There are two versions of the OB1, different envelope generators. Not a particularly reliable or well built machine, but they sound fantastic. They can be tricky to repair, I have found bad resistors of all things in those machines more than once, which are usually oscillator killers. Best to find a tech nearby, they don't take to courier services well at all.
