I dont know about the paper/pad thingy - this guy had an ipad2 though, but I did not ask and it was always in the idock so I did not get to see a piece of paper/wedge.
Unfortunately there is no-one else making anything with all these functions (so far) - and the outputs on the ipad are pretty crap unbalanced.
One shitty thing that Moog did was not allow the output of its software to go through the idock/or the ipad lead to any other future device - which is understandable but crap! Hopefully someone will make some dodgy software to get around this.
But man the Moog is great! The expression on it is amazing.

It makes me wonder why keyboards dont have this idea of pressing a key and sliding your finger forward up the key for expression - such a killer function! Amazing no-one has thought of this in all the years of electronic keyboards - all we have had is touch sensitivity.
I think the ipads are going to make Roland/Korg and the rest rethink their design approach.

^ chris, i started a thread about the Haaken Continuum Fingerboard, that keyboard actaully does what you're talking about, 3 axis =

velocity/aftertouch
pitch
up and down as well.

the only downside though for some , may be the lack of keys.

After much umming and arring I bit the bullet and bought V Control Pro (Neyrinck) for my iPad and now I'm wondering what took me so long. :) It's great! Huge amount of functions, nice smooth control, perfect for using in the control room or out in the studio with the artist (anywhere), mixing on the couch, mixing down the hall...on the toilet?
Totally chuffed.

Hey Ben,

That sounds great !
Can you basically run through whats required to connect the Neyrinck software and the ipad ?
Much appreciated.

Hey there Nymo,
It is pretty quick and painless as with most things on iPad.
First thing is turn off Bluetooth in settings on your iPad
Download and run the "Ney-Fi" installer from neyrinck.com on your DAW computer (tiny piece of software to enable the wifi link with thw DAW).
Download V control pro on your IPad.
Launch Ney-Fi on your DAW computer.
Launch V-Control Pro on your iPad.
Open the Setup popover (gear icon) in V-Control Pro. Verify that V-Control Pro displays your computer's name in the Computer picker list.
Open peripherals in PT and select V Control to send and receive.
All done.
If you have a session open already V Control pro picks it up straight away and snap! All the faders and controls are on your pad.
$50 and you have a wifi control surface for your DAW with loads of functions (if needed).

Thanx for that info Ben.
Here's my problem.
I have Vodaphone wifi coming into the house..a little modem picks it up.(there is NO telephone line)
My ipad and iphone automatically link to that modem no problem.
My studio computer is a 2007 MacPro. I just bought an airport card for it which attaches internally to the mother board.
The problem is I cant get this airport card to link to the vodafone wifi.
Even if I put the iphone in share mode , the mac sees it but says the password is wrong(even though I know its right)
I am trying to authorize a heap of software that Ive recently bought and I need to get that mac online !
If you, or anyone, can step me thru it I am happy to pay.
Any help greatly appreciated !

I've got a few questions Nymo.

Does your Vodafone wifi box have ethernet ports (or 1 port)? If it does you could connect directly with an ethernet cable to the mac pro.

Re: the password. Is it the phones password or computers password that's needed? Have you tried both?

Can you turn the airport card off and on? I understand it's on the mother board but can you reboot the card at all?
Are you using airport utility in the utilities folder to setup this connection?

Hi Ben
No interfaces on the wifi modem at all.
Tried all passwords phone,computer,modem
I can switch the card on and off.
The airport software for the card can only be configured to an airport base station which I obviously don't have
yeah ....it's a bugger...I usually can fart around for a couple of hours and get something happening ....but I've spent 5 hours so far and have got nowhere !

is the airport compatible with the latest 802.11 protocols which the vodafone modem uses? I have a 2007 mac pro and I didn't get the airport card. Instead I use a USB wifi plug from MAX power which plugs into a usb port and then gives full wifi capability. Works flawlessly and comes with a corded base so that you can put it in a good place for reception too. was cheap like around $60 or so...

Hi Myles
I bought the card only a week ago from the us
It is the same one they put in all the latest Mac pros..it should work.
I just can't get it to see the Vodafone wifi
It picks up my iPhone , but won't accept the password.
I'll have another go now and see how I go

Check this out. 48 track playback and 24 track recording on iPad. I'd be interested to have a play around with it.

How did you go with the wifi to your mac Nymo?
