Re: diymic.com
Hi guys
Sorry for the delay - I suddenly found myself getting a cancer scare, so organising this purchase seriously dropped off my radar.
Anyway, the biopsy is back, there is zero cancer and I'm starting to get my head back together. (I still have to have a small operation to remove a benign tumour from a delicate part of the male anatomy - feel free to wince).
So is everyone still keen?

Abso-F#$%-ing-lutely.
I'll even build the basic one and do a step by step build sheet with photos as a guide for new DIYers (though I'll probably swap out the tantalums for film caps).
MORE DIY people. It's good for you !!!
Good to here all is well Manning

Re: diymic.com
Great to hear you're alright manning.
I've been drifting back and forth with the 460 as a donor mic for my build. I need a pattern switcher for my mic because I want to use a Peluso 87 capsule with the 87 clone boards.
The other one thats a possibility is the Aurcyle A570T http://www.aurycle.com/aurycle-a570t-la ... phone.html or one of the other donor mics suggested on the groupdiy thread. The 460 would be fine if it had a pattern selector but I don't fancy adding this to an already cramped fit. That doesn't seem like a good approach.
The Aurclye A570T is the same price as the 460 ($69.95). Is it possible for me to order one of these through this buy? Or is it best for me to buy this separately?
cheers
Ben

Good result but doesn't sound like much fun Manning. Glad to hear it's all cool.
I'm definitely still in on the group buy.

Re: diymic.com
As an exercise, I might even get a pair and build one absolute stock and Hot rod the other to compare performance.
Would be interesting to see how different it is for an extra $85

I managed to score an Aurycle DIY multi pattern valve mic that had already been built up by a guy in WA, so you can take me off the list, thanks.

Just linking this new tranny from tab (the T13). Designed as a replacement for the U87 tranny. Would be very nice for this mic build.
cheers

Re: diymic.com
This thread's a little bloated. Is this a group buy?
I've had my eye on the Ayrycle A5500 and modding it as per the FAR 47 Gold

Did anyone ever build a U87 kit?
I was just looking at ordering parts, and was searching for info here on Mouser shipping charges and came across this?
sound alright when you did build it... which capsule did you use....
anyone got any parts laying around they want to get rid of cause you didnt build it?
