Right this moment....Pink Floyds "Wish you were here" on vinyl. Looking forward to hearing them perform at Sir Bobs Live-8 concert!

I recorded a really cool local funk band called Incunnaboola about a month ago, unfortunately the release is a bit up in the air at the moment, as the band leader (bassist) has taken off to Europe for 6 months to 2 years. But they are definitely a talented bunch of guys who I had an absolute blast working with.
Currently listing to my usual staple diet of Tool, A Perfect Circle, Helmet and a bit of Miles Davis.

This week I are been mostly listening to...
The New Ryan Adams double CD which is very good but if it had been a single CD it would have been the trousers.
Also the soundtrack to the movie Garden State. I saw the film then HAD to buy the soundtrack its so brilliant. What a good little consumer I am.
Aus....More and Wildfire sound vaguely familiar. Are we talking 80's- big hair tight trousers?

Steve Earle's new album: The Revolution Starts Now. Just got it as well as an album recorded by Terry Manning of Gimmer Nicholson's music. Saw the thread on it at PSW and thought i'd get it. For some reason some of the music i like best is rather obscure like the album of Sons of Champlin (vynal) that i bought because of the artwork and its been one of my favourites for years now.

the new dave matthews album, particularly like way its recorded, very HIFI and modern sound but with lots of space between each instrument, sound like they all exist within the space and don't fight eachother, but they still sound like the instrument should, not like they take up a space on the EQ graph...

Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
Janis Ian - Between the Lines
Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
Great songs, great playing, natural sounding recordings. Good listening for cold winter nights in southern Victoria by the wood fire.

Hi,
Bluebottle Kiss have just finished stage 1 of their next album here at the studio. They're about to release a single for their tour, which I've been listening to - pretty cool, this particular track has two drum kits panned L&R for an interesting effect and lots of distorted room mic in the mix.
Also this is the first project I've worked on where I've had nothing to do with the mixing, which was quite cool. I'm quite pleased too because it was all tracked onto 2" 16 track ampex, mixed through an analog desk onto 1/4". No ProStools used anywhere!
Rufus Wainwright has caught my attention recently - killer songs and fantastic production. Plenty of Alsihad there.
And I can't stop listening to Back in Black... (?)

Whenever I was in the car, and playing a CD, I could swear I was hearing a high pitched squeal.....thought it might've been the CD, but then I figured out that it was my mobile phone car charger. The little bugger was putting out 16k and making me crazy!

Saw Evermore yesterday in Fremantle. Those boys are destined for the big time I think. Some nice sonics happening, they had the lighting nicely sorted, and a bit of video projection thrown into the mix. Good on em.
