Has anyone used an APB pro desk 8 console that can comment on the sound and functionality?

I'd also like to hear from people who have used the Midas Venice F32 console and any comments on it's sound and functionality.
Many thanks
Ben

Re: Console query
hi ben
yes i had a play as a demo once
but have used a bunch of other APB gear in the field.
its good stuff. good sounding. really solid build.
reminds me of crest, or something like that which is nice, but not super awesome and expensive.
used plenty of the venice as well.
are you looking to buy one or the other??

A bunch of guys left Crest to form that company, so I think a certain similarity in the feature sets of some products is not surprising.

Re: Console query
the apb distorts more than crest (this is good.. i hate the crest consoles..to nice, hard to get a vibe)
the midas is totally different, thats why they are my LIVE console of choice.
(the crest is one of the few consoles on my list of please dont give this to me)..
this is all for live, band stuff.. now it it were broadcast or classical id probably go APB, Crest then midas...
studio.. none of the above, though the midas is really cheap at the moment and well featured.
i have a midas venice and its never been in our studio, probably never will....

Re: Console query
APB was indeed formed by ex-crest employees, it was prompted by crest moving their manufacturing interstate.
Like crest they are nice sounding desks but a few reliability/maintenance issues.
