Enspniq EPS disks needed

Postby CriticalD » Wed Jul 03, 2013 12:32 am

Hi guys,
I've posted this in SALE section also, just thought I'd try you over here...
I'm on the hunt for Boot disk OS V2.49 for the Ensoniq EPS and whatever sample disks I can get my hands on.

Anyone had experience buying these online?

Anyone had experience with these synths? should be fun...

Cheers,
Oly.

I sold an EPS 16+ a few years back. Great sounding and great fun but it would often not boot so I got rid of it for about $150-$200 on ebay I think (in that condition). Sold all the disks with it too unfortunately and don't think I kept any.
I was loading drum samples into it before I got jack of the boot problem.
The OS is available here http://www.chickensys.com/kb/eps-asr/032.html
I know - you probably don't have a floppy drive, but getting one and setting up an old PC with windows xp will probably come in handy if you get seriously into it - besides getting the OS you want there's probably some old programs floating around to help with sample management etc.

thanks for that Justin.
Yeah, I think sourcing a disk drive will be the way forward! I've just got to make sure it doesn't take over my life, synths (especially sort-of-broken-not-fully-ok synths) will do that to a bloke.

Cheers,
Oly

Isn't the Ensoniq EPS supported by HxC floppy emulator?

If so, you could install that and boot it off HxC with 100% reliabilty. (assuming someone has a boot disk image)

Then you'd never need a floppy again. Store 1000 of disk images on the SD card.
