ok... here is something that for some reason i have never had to do...
and now i cant figure out how to (it MUST be possible)
i have a stereo track (its a desk mix from a live show) which is WAY hot on one side.
how do i "split" the track?
or change gain on one side of it only?
im in PT10
im sure its easy and im missing something obvious... but im sure not seeing it right now!
thanks in advance

Re: stereo tracks in PT
I'm assuming you want to do it while it remains as one stereo track?
Otherwise, you could always copy the track and pan one track hard left, and the other hard right, then adjust the gain of each as required.

Re: stereo tracks in PT
id love to keep it a stereo track.
well... i dont need to.. im just sure that i should be able to!!
appreciate there are some work around (like you mention copying etc)
but surely there is a way to adjust the gain of one side of a stereo track in PT... surely.

Re: stereo tracks in PT
you could put a plugin on, and lower the gain on one side. it is an option if you have a clean plugin you dont hear the sound of.

Re: stereo tracks in PT
use a dual mono trim plugin (or any plugin that has gain controls), unlink the channels in the plugin and then alter which ever side you need to. I think the dual mono plugin feature of PT is excellent.

Re: stereo tracks in PT
Drag the stereo file from the audio regions onto two mono audio tracks that are side by side, pan hard left and right, then you'll be able to clip gain the hot track down.

Guys you can also right click on a stereo track and click "Split into mono".
