GSSL & GPultec Parts

Postby NathS101 » Sun Sep 15, 2013 10:53 pm

I've had the pcbs sitting here for a while and want to finally get started...
Does anyone have parts they want to get rid of?
Cheers

Nathan, altronics or mouser should have the parts you need. Rob is doing my front panel layout for my GSSL as we speak.

I've just finished a BOM for the gPultec. I've seperated it out to make life easy for anyone that wants to substitute Caps, Pots etc.
I'm pretty sure its correct, but if anyone spots anything thats incorrect, messeage me and I'll update it!

Cheers

You can get the gPultec inductors from Sowter or Don-Audio.
I know a guy that will wind quality inductors pretty cheap and apparently better quality than Don.
He does a minimum order of 4 inductors.

Transformers can be gotten from the Australian dealer for Lundahl for $70 (free shipping if qty 4+)

I'm actually sourcing parts for this now, so if anyone's keen on a groupbuy we could get the prices lower!!!

oh and I'm looking at building a GSSL too, so maybe a group buy on the cases would be good, save loads on shipping i'm guessing.

I'm digging the white SSL copy from here:

I've contacted these guys in Australia, they do wind inductors, so they may be able to knock us up some for the gPultec

Hey guys has anyone had experience building the Gpultec with more of a custom approach?
I'm thinking carbon comp resistors and ceramic caps might get me a nicer sound than the metal film resistors and panasonic caps...
Any feedback?
Cheers

I haven't done the gpultec but I have just finished a drip la2a with carbon comp resistors & it sounds amazing.

do the pultec (any version) and you will love it. I've built two types (valve and solid-state) and both are excellent. Depending what you build I have various parts, transformers, switches, pots etc.
