Single XLR Bracket

Postby obutcher » Thu May 01, 2014 1:05 pm

I'm looking to find an L shaped bracket for mounting a single XLR connector. Basically a small bracket with some holes punched in it. I'm trying to retrofit a new lecturn mic onto an old pulpit, and I'm hoping to find some kind of bracket I can put an XLR in the top and screw the bracket to the side of the pulpit. The pulpit has some pretty thick wood and I'm not keen on drilling a hole in it to mount the XLR in, I'd rather just put a couple of small screw holes in the side (i.e. not so permanent).

I've been searching for something like this but haven't had much luck.

Can only suggest Bunnings Owen.
They have many aluminium brackets of different shapes and sizes that could suit what you're after.

Good luck!

I reckon bunnings bracket and use a hole saw and drill press to make an XLR cutout in it?

how about a small box. Say diecast alum if you need it to be tough.
Then there is just the machining ... we machine XLR holes every day around here!

+1 for Rob, we use little Die cast boxes whenever we need a single XLR or an XLR and Headphone socket mounted under a desk or somewhere we can't put a Plate with cough switch/Volume control.

I'd try this from Wes Components

1 x XLRP1 (stainless steel wall plate with 1 hole cutout for neutrik-style connector)
1 x MBL1 (wall plate stand-off)

Works out to be about $7 and will attach to the lectern and look great. I know the part numbers because I ordered a bunch today for a similar job.

Cheers for the responses guys. I figured a trip to Bunnings was likely, but that combo from Chris is looking like a good plan. Tidy and neat!
