Oh wow. Thanks for pointing that out Steve.
Last I heard things weren't great (or consistent) in the world of quality tape or supply.
Maybe it's picking up again...?
Hoping they'll bring out a 1" 8 track that's portable :D

Home HiFi unit to (I assume) capitalize on the vinyl "comeback" and analog being cool again.

Never say never and all that, but personally I wouldn't hold my breath for anything new from Revox with more than 2 tracks.

I read somewhere that Revox also plan on releasing your favourite albums on reel to reel as well...

for $330US a pop. It is strange times in music, that is for sure. People releasing music on formats nobody buys. People buying music on formats they cannot actually play. And manufacturers releasing music on formats that very few can afford. It is great to see a more inconvenient, and much higher priced alternative to vinyl.

More expensive and more inconvenient? The hipster population will be wetting themselves.
First one to spot a hipster in a park listening to a reel to reel with headphones wins a prize.

Looks like a nice machine and with current digital technology, tape path control should be unprecedented.

Hi enders have been into tape for many years and it invariably ends up the best home replay format for
many reasons, too much to go into here. Needless to say when someone compares a mega buck digital system
to tape and the tape wins, they're off to ebay and grab an ex pro R2R for a few $k. It's a pretty simple
equation.

It is only a matter of time before itunes to reel to reel and vinyl businesses start popping up left, right and centre. :D

Nothing wrong with digital in my opinion, it's what people do to digital that's the problem....

Oh yeah, new tape machine, hmmmm.......
