Not sure where to post this...
Anyone know who the current service/repairs people are for Beyerdynamic are in Australia?
Specifically for an M201 mic.
Thanks!

Hills Industries distribute and service Beyerdynamic products in Australia. Not sure where you're located but in Sydney I think it's in Lidcombe. Have a look here:

I sent a 201 to Hills a few years back, was a little expensive, but came back with a new capsule and Ive used it as snare top on just about every session ever since.
I also sent a 160 ribbon, that went back to Germany, again was $$ but came back perfect, use and love it constantly, first thing out of the drawer when recording an amp.

Thanks all, I'm gonna get Db to send out a replacement capsule.
Hill I got no answer from...
Can't wait to get it going again, also just sent some M500's to Sank for a re-ribbon so that's pretty exciting too.

Hey Lachie,
did you get an indication of the price of fixing the 201?
I have a pair of the older ones here, both requiring a new capsule and I am bouncing between getting some replacements for around 120 euro second hand, versus getting them repaired...

Around $220 or so for a capsule and a bit over $300 installed...
If you know where t get capsules cheaper than that I'd love to hear, I can only find one US site that won't ship internationally...

Re: Beyer service in Australia?
Just had Phil Brainwood from dbSound get my two M88s (1xNC, 1xN) back up and running. One needed way more attention that the other, but in short I have two working mics when I feared I would have to cannibalise one to get the other going, and the repair bill on both was less than the price of a new one, so I'm a happy camper.
