Australian Acoustic Fabric Suppliers
Hey. A friend of mine is looking to build a few framed absorbers to sell to save people doing the DIY thing. I've looked into it for him and know Guilford of Maine overseas is the standard, but have struggled to source a local equivalent without reverting to speaker grill cloth. Any ideas?

Re: Australian Acoustic Fabric Suppliers
I don’t know about actually rated acoustic fabric but we used ikea sheets. Was the cheapest by square meter we could find, was very thin and came in a range of colours. Works great for acoustic transparency.

I'm with Myles, "acoustic fabric" feels incredibly snake-oil-ish to me. Marketing department got properly inspired that day.

I remember somewhere Rick saying: if you can breathe through the fabric then that’s good enough.
I’ve mad acoustic absorbers using cheap fabric from spotlight.

Re: Australian Acoustic Fabric Suppliers
sorry for the late reply
I only use Macquarie textiles they have a mile of screen fabrics
http://www.macquarietextiles.com.au/contract/range/Base
they are all fire rated and australian standards ticket .. this doesn't matter too much in a home studio but in a commercial premise you need to provide data for fire etc
I almost alway use " move" immediate
also new website for my acoustic services
soundlifeacoustics.com.au
if your off to spotlight or such dont use anything flammable and yeah if you can breath through it and it doesn't get hot it will probably do the job
